20 years with Oliver Furniture
in 2023 we celebrated our 20th anniversary. Here, we reflect on what has shaped us, which convictions have guided our
development and which ambitions and dreams formed the basis for our brand back then. Today, Oliver Furniture stands for timeless children's furniture in sustainable design, firmly rooted in classic Scandinavian design history.
20 years of fun and play
At Oliver Furniture, we believe that everyday life should be fun and there should be room for play. Being with family and friends and going to work should be fun. So as a company, we are particularly proud to celebrate 20 years with several employees who have been with us almost from the beginning.
Oliver Furniture aims to be a fun and good workplace where everyone wants to contribute and be valued. We don't think that's naive or childish; we believe it's necessary.
CHILDREN's FURNITURE SINCE 2003
What started as a lifestyle brand in 2003 with classic storage benches and display cabinets for simplistic Nordic interiors and simple living also evolved into a collection of children's furniture when designer Søren Rørbæk's son Oliver was born. He struggled to find children's furniture of quality and design that spoke to him, and this was the beginning of Oliver Furniture.
The vision has always been to defy fleeting trends and tendencies and create timeless children's furniture in a sustainable design for modern families.

From the archive
As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we look back at how it all began in 2003. Søren Rørbæk, a former cabinet maker, and Eva Henningsen, a former business owner, saw an opportunity in the market and a lack of quality furniture for children. Surrounded by the Nordic nature in which the furniture is rooted, they founded Oliver Furniture in North Zealand, just half an hour north of Copenhagen.
With views of the sea, beach and forest, it remains an attractive location for the company based in the historic Hellebæk Klædefabrik.

"I never dreamed of a big company with high turnover. The most important thing for me is to be true to myself and spend time with my family. I design and develop the furniture, but the employees play as big a role in the company as I do. Oliver Furniture wouldn't be where it is today without its employees".

Integrity and consistency
Both internally and externally, Integrity and consistency are important parameters at Oliver Furniture. "I am pleased to have created a trustworthy company where we have built good, long-term relationships with our business partners. And we have created a working environment where our employees want to be involved."
"We have been manufacturing in the same place for over 10 years, which gives us a close relationship with the people at the factory who work with our furniture daily. Relationships are crucial to me, and actually, the people I know become more and more interesting over time," says Søren Rørbæk.

20 years of play and happiness
We do our best every day and have the desire to create a good environment for a child's life. We are pleased that in 20 years, we have helped to put more than 20,000 children to sleep in our beds and that 10,000 babies have been cuddled and changed on our changing tables. But most of all, we are pleased to see that our beds are now being reused. They are being resold or rebuilt, just as we always intended.
Of course, we are also happy to see the many beautiful pictures of children's rooms worldwide, where our furniture is part of families' interior design. It makes us very proud.
